Advisory Group
As part of its governance structure review process, the Civic Trust Awards has appointed an independent Advisory Group, further strengthening its status as a community focused organisation operating on a not-for-profit basis.
The Civic Trust Awards Advisory Group was established on 1st September 2009,
The main objectives of the group are:
- To ensure the integrity and ethos of the Civic Trust Awards scheme is maintained
- To act as a reference group to represent stakeholders and advise on the strategic development and direction of the Civic Trust Awards scheme (including application, assessor and judging criteria)
- To help to promote, support and provide guidance to the Civic Trust Awards scheme
Each of the Advisory Group Members have agreed to:
- Review and make recommendations on the future governing Terms of Reference of the Advisory Group
- Attend Advisory Group meetings arranged at a suitable frequency and use email to share interim issues and decisions
- To comment on operational delivery plans and other governing documents including the communication strategy, publicity and assessor materials
- Act as champions for the Civic Trust Awards scheme and promote the effectiveness of the scheme in recognising excellence in the built environment and inspiring higher standards of urban design, planning, management and maintenance
- Ensure the scheme is complementary to other built environment activity and awards
- Ensure any surplus financial assets are used for the purpose of community benefit*
- Review and make recommendations on the Membership of the Advisory Group
The Advisory Group will operate independently of the Civic Trust Awards National Judging Panel, whose role remains unaffected by the introduction of the Group.
Additional members of the Advisory Group will be nominated in due course.
